The 7th annual Stand Up for Kids Award is sponsored by Toronto's four Children's Aid Societies and was presented by the Honourable Laurel Broten, Minister of Children and Youth Services as part of October's Child Abuse Prevention Month.
The Gatehouse® recognizes the efforts of all in the community that work to reduce both the occurrence and impact of child abuse in Ontario, and beyond.
The Gatehouse especially acknowledges the contribution of Children’s Aid Societies in educating the public about how to prevent and respond to child abuse and neglect through awareness and support. We extend to them our thanks and share with you the following:
At the end of May we hosted Mayday 2009 (http://www.thegatehouse.org/mayday). Mayday 2009 was a huge success and we thank everyone who attended or otherwise supported the event, especially our sponsors. The weather was fantastic, the crowds were bigger than ever and steady throughout the day. We had new entertainment and activities, and exceeded our fundraising goal.
The word forgiveness is the most “unforgiving” term that there is. It implies no compromise, it holds no limit on time, and it will not stray from its goal.
