Mentor Training and Development: Leadership education that makes a difference
Enhancing your agency’s capacity to provide informed staff and trained volunteer support to adults whose lives are impacted by the experience of childhood abuse.
Package #1
Training Hours: 16 hours
Schedule: 2 days @ 8 hrs/day
Fee: $2000*
Focus: Receiving abuse disclosure within the context of other-focused service provision.
This training provides agency staff with a process for receiving disclosure and giving feedback. It includes a look at the impacts of child abuse set within hierarchies of socialization. Opportunities are provided for workshop participants to integrate adults’ disclosures within the context of other services being rendered. Training is adaptable in focus and is particularly helpful for gender specific discussions on adult male disclosure.
*Cost includes materials and training at The Gatehouse® site. Agencies wishing to train at their own agency site must provide appropriate space capacity. This choice does not reduce fee. Training groups held at The Gatehouse® are limited to 8.
Package # 2
Training Hours: 24 hours
Schedule: 12 weeks @ 2 hrs./wk or 3days @ 8 hrs/day
Fee: $3200 *
Focus: Developing a mentor support base in agencies serving adults who have also experienced childhood abuse.
This training is for agency staff wishing to develop a core group of volunteer mentors to provide trained companionship support to adult populations specific to the organization’s service mission. The training schedule is flexible to agency staffing capacity.
*Cost includes Train the Trainer Manual, and training at The Gatehouse® site.
Agencies wishing to train at their own agency site must provide appropriate space capacity. This choice does not reduce fee. Training groups held at The Gatehouse are limited to 8.
Package #3
Training Hours: 48 hours
Schedule: 3 days @ 8 hrs per day (strategic development format) plus 24 hours flexible schedule of follow-up support
Fee: $6000*
Focus: G.A.S.N Chapter Development: Agency adaptation of volunteer support sector programming
This training is for organizations wishing to develop a "chapter" site under the umbrella of The Gatehouse Adult Support Network™ . It includes preliminary presentations to staff, boards and volunteers; a staff training component and oversight consultation on the development of the first round of G.A.S.N chapter groups.
*Cost includes Agency Development Task Manual, Train the Trainer Manuals all other materials and training at agency site.
