In Honour
Donations in honour are a wonderful way to celebrate a person and an occasion. This type of donation is a thoughtful gift to a special person that has a special care for children. Be sure to include in a letter to us: the name and address of the person you are honouring, the occasion (if any), and your name and address. We will send a notification to the person of your unique gift.
Note: We do not inform the person of the amount of your gift, only that we have received it.

In Memory
Honour the memory or a loved one by donating in their name. Send us a letter including the person in whose name the memorial gift is for, the name and address of the person you would like to notify of your thoughtful gift, and your name and address so that we can thank you for your gift.
Note: We do not inform the person / family of the amount of your gift, only that we have received it.

Gifts by Will/Bequests
Gifts made through your will are the most commonly planned gifts. These tax-smart gifts can eliminate significant taxes payable upon your death. Your estate may claim gifts in the year of death equal to 100% of your net income in that year and the year preceeding death.
You can choose to leave The Gatehouse® a specific piece of property, a pre-determined sum of money, or a percentage of your estate. Through your will, you can provide a permanent endowment in your or a loved one's name. These gifts are planned today, and The Gatehouse® will benefit after your death.
Contact your legal advisor to plan a gift by will.

Gifts of Securities
Donating appreciated stocks, bonds, and mutual fund units is the most tax-effective way to donate during your lifetime or as part of a legacy gift. An extra tax incentive for gifts of appreciated publicly listed securities makes stocks the least expensive way to give.
Whether you donate cash or appreciated securities, you will receive a tax receipt that creates a tax credit. Donors receive the tax credit for their gift and have the additional tax incentive of paying no capital gains tax.
Note: The donation of qualifying shares purchased through employee stock options would be treated in a similar manner as a gift of publicly listed securityies. These donations are therefore eligible for reduced capital gains inclusion rates providing the shares are donated within 30 days after their acquisision and in the year they were acquired.
